style predictions for 2025 // by michele
a new year is the perfect time to take a style inventory of your space. what parts of your home do you love? what could use a refresh? sometimes, it just takes a few small changes to update your space in a way you love! here are some of my tried-and-true ways to liven up a space that are in the spotlight right now:
built-ins: although I am no stranger to a statement built in, these are all over the place online right now. from extremely custom arched built-ins to DIY options from Ikea. although I would recommend the former, a built-in adds so much personality and gives you a place to showcase sentimental, beautiful, or downright practical pieces
antique (and thrifted!) pieces: I love including antique pieces in styling, serve wear, and even fashion. in a world where everything is produced for the masses, there’s something special about a one-of-a-kind find that no one else will have. an easy way to incorporate antique finds would be through accent furniture, table place-settings, and bookends!
color drenching: gone are the days of accent walls and singular focal points! color drenching a space, from top to bottom, all walls, trims, and ceilings with either paint or wallpaper creates an experience for all who enter. one of my favorite ways to do this without breaking the bank is in a small space like a powder bathroom. big impact in a small space packs a huge, stylish punch.
mixed metals: mixed metals, in fashion and home, are having the moment they’ve always deserved. from earrings with a silver post and a gold hoop to hardware with an unlacquered brass backplate and polished nickel pull, we are here for all of it. the mix of 2 or more metals in your space adds so much visual interest and can really set your space apart from other uniform spaces in your home.
we’d love to come and freshen up some of your spaces! whether you’re ready to wallpaper or you just want to update some hardware, we have some recent faves with our vendors that we are dying to use! send us a message to get started!
news from around the office
At the end of 2024, Michele was selected to be the Spec Designer for the Lake Burton Boathouse! We are so excited to begin working on this project. Here’s some more info on the space:
“On the site of the old Kastner Store, a new stone and shingled gathering space inspired by Lake Burton’s famous boathouses will be opening in 2025. Burton Boathouse will include a fireside screened porch, entertaining and play space, spa and wellness facilities, heated saline pool, hot tub/spa, fire pits, event lawn, paddleboard/kayak launch, and slips with shared community boats.”
On December 7th, Erin got married! It was a beautiful day to start a marriage and we all had so much fun dancing the night away! The brand new Kelloggs honeymooned in Aruba for about 10 days and got home just in time for Christmas. What an incredible month it was! She’s been battling a bulging disc in her back for about 2 months now, so you might not see her around as much, but hoping to get some answers and relief soon!
Michele enjoyed Christmas with family at home and in New York! She’s kicked off 2025 with some incredible projects and a few girls trips that were unforgettable. She’s hard at work with the team at Lake Burton to make the Boathouse a fun place to gather. She’s excited for all the projects that are starting off the year on a great foot!
vibes and paint colors i can’t stop thinking about for 2025 // by erin
as we kick off a new year, we are seeing so many common themes and I am here for it! from different color-of-the-years, popular paint colors, go-to nail polish colors, and viral sweaters, I’m sharing the vibes and colors of 2025. let’s obsess together, shall we?
1. pantone’s color of the year: mocha mousse- the pantone colors set the tone for the year. i am so excited to see how this color pops up throughout the different seasons. it is warm and cool at the same time and goes with almost anything!
2. suzie loves cowboys: this OPI paint color has been a go-to of mine for a few years now. i love the deep chocolate brown- and how chic for these last few winter months?
3. farrow & ball: dead salmon and london clay- these colors are like moody sisters with a big age gap: they don’t always hang out together, but when they do, they realize how much they love each other. I found london fog in 2022 when Julia, from chris loves julia, painted their bedroom in this color. it was before my crush on chocolate brown, but now I’m all in on this rich and cozy color. dead salmon is not to be judged by its name. i learned about this color from Brooke Christian, @nestingwithgrace on instagram, a few years back. i’ve circled back to it this year and can’t stop thinking about how good it looks. 2 colors from other paint brands that pack the same punch: benjamin moore & sherwin williams: cinnamon slate and grounded respectively. i really like the idea of using these 2 colors together as well- maybe a lighter shade for walls, trim, and ceiling and darker shade for a accent color on a built in or a piece of accent furniture?!
4. quince brown sweater: quince is a new-to-me brand that prioritizes sustainability and premium materials. they keep their costs low by simplifying their supply chain. i love their mission that you don’t have to spend a small fortune to have great quality pieces- very in for 2025. this brown, organic cotton sweater has gone viral so of course it is in my cart! michele has a few of their cashmere pieces and LOVES them!
5. the vibe: journaling with a twist- junk journaling: i’ve always been a sentimental hoarder. i’ve kept score cards from nearly every game of rummy my husband and I have ever played since we started dating, movie tickets from some of our favorites, and, and, and. if it is preservable- i will preserve. enter: junk journaling. if scrapbooking and journaling had a baby, that would be junk journaling. the idea is it is not as formal (read: involved, requiring a lot of materials) as scrapbooking, but still freezes a moment in time. tape in keepsakes, press flowers, write a little about what you are keeping. i love this idea and think it is way more attainable than a whole scrapbook or journaling for 30 minutes a night. looking forward to building mine in 2025!
